Terms and Conditions

All guinea pigs to be in good health on arrival. A brief health check will be made, For example eyes, ears, nose and coat. Unfortunately any animal with skin problems, parasites or respiratory problems will not be able to stay.

If your guinea pigs need grooming during their stay with us, please bring with you their grooming brushes, combs etc.

No responsibility will be taken for a guinea pig pregnancy. This is very, very unlikely to occur as no guinea pigs from other families ever mix. Your pets will have their own accommodation and use the same run for the length of their stay with us.

All guinea pigs must be used to outdoor living. Our accommodation is suitable for house guinea pigs during the milder months, for example April to November.

Our Guests are given a meal of fresh fruit or vegetables each morning and a varied selection of fresh fruit and vegetables in the evening. This is in addition to their normal food of flakes or pellets, dried grass (excel forage) and first class Cotswold meadow hay which will be in their accommodation or run at all times.

Veterinary Attention

We do not refuse to take animals with existing medical conditions - each case is considered individually. We can continue to give medication as prescribed by your vet for a small charge of 50p per day.  If your pet needs to be isolated during their stay with us a charge of 25p per day on top of the boarding fee will be made.

Please be honest in giving details of any conditions and treatments, in this way we can protect ALL the animals in our care.

If your pet becomes unwell during their stay with us and requires veterinary treatment we will try to contact the emergency number on the booking form. No decision will be made by us regarding treatment unless unnecessary suffering to the guinea pig  would occur.

The cost of any visit/treatment to a veterinary surgery will be met by the owners of the animal on their collection. There will be a small charge of £2.50 which will be payable for each visit to the Vets. This is to help cover the cost of petrol etc. Please sign and return the enclosed Veterinarian Authorisation form when you return the booking form. Thank You.

If your vet is further than a 3 mile radius of  Billy Blue Hat, we will visit our own vets in an emergency.

NON COLLECTION OF PETS

We reserve the right to take any action deemed fit with respect to your pet in the event of non collection or contact by the owner after 14 days from the due date.
